The raw corn enters the crude pulverizer and is crudely crushed. It is then crushed in a fine powder pulverizer and sent into the powder silo.
In the batching tank at citric acid manufacturing plant, the cornflour is adjusted into a slurry with hot water, with adjusted PH, and the thermostable α-amylase is added. After the feed solution is evenly stirred, the slurry is pumped into the jet cooker, then the slurry combined with steam is cooled and enters the holding column for heat preservation. In the case where the iodine test is acceptable, it is filtered by a filter.
The filtered sugar solution produces acidulant citric acidacidifier under the effects of Aspergillus niger during a complicated fermentation process. Citric acid fermentation is aerobic fermentation, thus both the seed tank and the fermenter need to be continuously supplied an appropriate amount of sterile air until the fermentation is completed.
After the pre-filtration to remove the impurities, there is remaining granular citric acid in the mycelium cake. The cake should be washed to get recovery of citric acid in citric acid manufacturing plant.
Add CaCO3 to the thin citric acid tank, the citric will be converted to Ca3(C6H5O7)2•4H2O and it will be as the sediment.
The 1st neutralization liquid is filtered by the belt vacuum filter. The filtrate is as the waste water to the ETP. The filter cake is Ca3(C6H5O7)2•4H2O.
The sediment of Ca3(C6H5O7)2•4H2O is mixed with the above pre-filtration liquid, i.e. thick citric. Then the CaH(C6H5O7) •3H2O as the sediment will be acquired.
The 2nd neutralization liquid is filtered by another belt vacuum filter. The filtrate recovered as thin citric acid for feeding 2nd neutralization.
The sediment of CaH(C6H5O7) •3H2O is mixed with H2SO4 to get citric acid C6H8O7.H2O and CaSO4. The CaSO4 is filtered out by the belt vacuum filter to get the CaSO4 cake with moisture of about 40% in citric acid production plant.
Active carbon has a good ability of absorption, it is used for removing those colorful impurities in the manufactured citric acid.
Citric Acid Project Introduction.
Remove the ion of concentrated citric acid to ensure that the material entering the chromatogram is pure.
Refined citric acid made by citric acid production plant will pass microfilter to remove any solid impurities like carbon and broken resin. Then it is send to the evaporator to increase its concentration from 60% to about 80%.
Crystallized CAA is sent to centrifuge to separate the pure CAA and mother liquid. Pure CAA enters into flow bed dryer to get the final dried crystal. The crystal will be finally sieved by a vibration screen to get the most qualified size crystal.
The mother liquid from the CAA centrifuge is sent to the CAM evaporator to get the required DS value for the separation.
